Informatie over de verwerking van persoonlijke gegevens

Bij Zinzino doen we er alles aan om uw privacy te beschermen. We verwerken uw e-mailadres en/of telefoonnummer om u op de hoogte te stellen wanneer uw testresultaat klaar is, op basis van ons legitieme belang om een vlotte testprocedure te kunnen garanderen (GDPR, Artikel 6.1(f)). Daarna worden de persoonlijke gegevens verwijderd.

Alle andere gegevens die wij tijdens de testprocedure verwerken, worden anoniem gehouden, inclusief het testresultaat. U heeft het recht om op elk moment toegang te vragen tot uw persoonlijke gegevens en te verzoeken deze te verwijderen. U kunt zich ook afmelden voor het ontvangen van meldingen.

What we analyze

The starting point for microbial and immune pathways

Tryptophan is an essential amino acid, meaning it must be obtained through diet – primarily from protein-rich foods like eggs, poultry, fish, dairy, soy, and seeds. Once absorbed, tryptophan plays a variety of roles in the body, serving as the starting point for the multiple pathways it can take in the body.

What makes tryptophan unique is that it sits at a metabolic crossroad between:
 

  • Microbial metabolism, where gut bacteria convert it into indole derivatives like IPA with immune-balancing, antioxidant, and barrier-supportive effects. 
  • Host metabolism, where tryptophan can be used for producing serotonin (important for mood and gut motility), or diverted into the kynurenine pathway during immune stress and activation. 


Because tryptophan can be used in so many ways, its availability and distribution reflect important aspects of gut and immune function. For example: 

 
  • Low TRP levels might indicate increased use by the host, such as during immune stress when more is directed into the kynurenine pathway.  
  • High TRP levels with low IPA may suggest reduced microbial conversion. 
  • Balanced TRP with favorable ratios suggests efficient microbial contribution and lower levels of immune stress.
